I am back from Hong Kong... it was a great trip!!!!!

The last time I went in 2006, didn't really buy much stuff. But this time, I bought quite a lot of stuff in 2 days. Fa Yuen Street (further down along Sportswear street) is the best!

Things I bought:
1. Three cardigans for S$25. They are exactly what u can find in Far East Plaza.. but here its super cheap!
2. 2 bags - quality quite good, love the design, and less than 50% the price of what u can get at far east plaza
3. a pair of flats for S$10
4. a dress and a shirt from H&M
5. face masks
6. model plane for Ah C

And we had very good food here... better than what we have in Dongguan.
Hai, now its back to work, serious work. Oh ya, I made a pair of specs in Dongguan too, for S$40 only!!!! Shall give more details, complete with photos when I have time bah.

Must jia you for the rest of the week!!!

I was stopped by the immigration officer after i passed the Chinese customs today..

he asked me in Mandarin after scanning my passport,

"You've been to the US? And to Japan? And to Taiwan?"

He then studied my look for a while, gave me back my passport and let me go.

For a moment, I thought maybe he suspected that I was a spy or something, haha.

Second overseas assignment - Dongguan, China

I am leaving on a jet plane...

In another 9 hours time, I will be on the plane to Guangzhou in China!

First time going overseas (exclude JB la) for work (ok, work and travel doesn't count either. i mean serious work.).. really dunno what to expect. The whole job seems so daunting! Though I am prepared to be culturely shocked- the people, the food, the formalities - after my manager briefed us yesterday. Having to converse in mandarin to the client, memorising technical accounting terms in chinese... totally driving me crazy. I haven't taken Chinese since Sec 4!

I was packing my luggage just two hours back, its so different from going on a holiday! Have to bring two pairs of heels, sports shoes (should i get a chance to go running) and slippers, and wearing sneakers there; blazer for presentation on the last day; work stuff - documents and a whole big pack of stationeries; food eg. 2-in-1 coffee powder, milo sachets, chocolates, cheese biscuits - apparently all got milk one so cannot eat those made in china; make up and skin care products (cos i m getting old, must really take care liao)... I hope I have some space for my shopping when I come back!

I am so going to miss the things here I bet. Especially my sushi, sandwiches and my bed.

Take good care everyone! I will be back in no time.

For: The most important man in my life

In our first year together, you smsed me a quote every day. I told you to stop eventually, as I din want you to run out of quotes one day. which I thought you will, pretty soon. I have many favourites, but probably some are more relevant at certain times. And as it is now...

"The most beautiful view is the one I share with you"
Having gone on several trips, the best ones were always spent with you.
Maybe its the way you accomodate me in everything we do.
Maybe its our common interests in things - sightseeing over shopping. shopping for others over ourselves.
Or maybe its because its just great to be with you.
I want to go so many more places with you...
our cruise on the carribean sea.
hiking and watching sunrise on eagle peak.
snowboarding - wherever it is.
staying in a suite in las vegas.
maybe a resort getaway in maldives.
accompanying you on your bwc training in perth, once again.
and the many many more places we will visit in the next ten years!
Wherever I go, the most beautiful view will always be shared with you.

"When you realise you want to spend the rest of you life with somebody,
you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible."
Its amazing how two years have passed just like that. It almost feels like you have just left and now its just less than 2 years before we embark on our life together. And I just can't wait for it to start.

And for whatever times left that we are to be apart, just remember,
"Absence makes the heart grow fonder" and
"As a part of you has grown in me and so you see,
its you and me forever and never apart,
maybe in distance, but never in heart."

It has been 6 years my dear... and still,
"Each morning as I awaken,
you are the reason I smile,
you are the reason I love."

Happy anniversary =)

CPA futsal

I am extremely happy because we won the CPA futsal games (female) yesterday!
We sent in 3 teams and two of our teams got to the finals, with my team emerging as the champions. Actually the finals was really a friendly game cos it didn't really matter which team won.
I am extremely happy not just because we won, but also because I scored 3 goals, and it was also the first time I scored a goal in competition!

Contentment indicator: =) =) =) =) =) (5/5)

Shanghai Grand

This year's theme is Shanghai Grand and many people dressed up to the theme! At the entrance of the Swissotel the Stamford, we were greeted by ladies in beautiful cheongsam, men in trenchcoat with cashmere scrarves around their neck. There were also others who were more fun, coming in white shirts and pants with suspenders, and these include girls!

My Ning gal.. who did wore a cheongsam in the end! Her black/red cheongsam was very pretty and her hair was nicely done. And not to forget her dramatic lashes... Ning, you looked really good that night!

Emily wore a very beautiful short, fitting, golden cheongsam which is see-through around the chest area.. so sexy leh! According to her, the cheongsam is not cheap and we wouldn't want to know the price.. and she refuses to tell us!
Evelyn and Sam Yee. Both of their cheongsams were simple, but reasonably short to show off their nice legs! And they are always so fun-loving!

Chui Ling and Vivien. Everyone has different ways to go with the theme. And lovely Vivien did her hair the Shanghai-style, with the waves and curls. Very pretty and outstanding! She looked so different I couldn't recognise her initially!
Even Meenal wore a 'qi-pao' top!

The rest of us have our ways of sticking to the theme 'as much as possible'.
Mandy wore a black satin dress and was armed with a paper fan bought during her recent Japan trip.
Clara wore a little black dress with flowery laced sleeves.
And me, I wore my red, flowery dress with black leggings and accessorised my arm with a jade bangle my brother got from Shanghai two weeks ago.

This year I was rather thrifty for the DND. Did make-up myself and decided not to do my hair. The only thing I spent on was my black stockings, which unfortunately had a useful life of only 6 hours because I was too rough and overstretched it while putting it on! =(

I think gals look really good in Cheongsam and may consider getting it for Ah C's Ring Dance in US next year!

A*Mei concert

It has been a long time (and i mean over a decade) since I last went for a celebrity concert. Actually I am not exactly a fan of A*Mei but I think her voice is really good and it would be great to watch her sing live. She held her concert here last year but I missed it cos no money to go. This year she comes back again! And as a birthday gift, Ah C got 2 front row seat tickets for me! And my mum had the privilege to go with me.... =P

We were there early and the stadium was so empty....

But it slowly got filled up and not long later, it was full! Yea, tickets were sold out and additional seats were actually added.

And the show started about 20mins pass scheduled time. I am glad it was not delayed for too long, which I know can happen at some concerts.

Both my mum and I agreed that she was a bit plump =P Nevertheless, her voice is really good and it was a spendid performance. Honestly there was not a lot of stunts or extraordinary dancing, but she just had the ability to heighten the atmosphere, right from the start.

Besides A*Mei herself, her dancers were awesome too. Special mention to this ang moh dancer (picture below), quite cute leh! But I could not snap a clear good shot of him cos he's forever moving. I think all her dancers got a lot of flare... make me wanna learn to dance like them! But of cos, its impossible la. Goodness, I can't dance. Give me a ball instead ba.
It was really great to watch A*Mei live! Thank you for the tickets dear~ Hopefully we can go watch a concert next time together!
