what to do with time

my life is getting pretty routine. after work, all i want is to spend time not working. it didn't really matter what i did. as long as i am not working. i realise i need to spend my time more meaningfully.. not just lazing around in my home all day, before my whole body start deteoriating from lying and sitting around too much(i am already feeling not as energized as before!)..

i wanna jog more regularly.
i wanna take up some fitness classes, preferable stretching AND cardio
i wanna spend my weekends at the library reading up on topics of interest to me, like wine/coffee/tea/chocolates/baking/places of interest/photography(so i can take pictures on my holidays)/etc etc
i wanna go to more places
i wanna learn French(to learn to pronounce the various French words use for food)
i wanna take up a part time certificate/diploma course in Hositality and Hotel Management.

There are so many things i wanna do but i never really began with any (jog, yes, only twice a week, but not with that burst of energy anymore). I need to start....

i hate hypocritical clients!

Errr...

I cannot stand clients who appear nice to you, smile and laugh with you,
and then stab you behind your back!

Being an auditor is tough because you have to handle hypocritical clients. Face it, they dun like that they are being audited, because you are checking the things they have done and finding their mistakes. Hence, they wanna find fault with you too!

No matter how nice and courteous you are to them, they will find something to complain about you to your boss! Like..
"why they close the door?"
"they use our cups without permission"
"they threaten us"
"they interrogate us"
They either find the smallest thing to complain about, or exaggerate as much as they can.

And because "customer comes first", your boss will only side with them...

This totally sucks man.

cravings

Its not my birthday, but there are some things that i really want!

Wii Rock band, with all the drums and guitars and microphones.

A new laptop, cos my Acer one is really dying slowly.

A new point and shoot camera.

A DSLR so i can take beautiful pictures when i travel.
You know sometimes I can be greedy too.

Zuji reverse auction

I am quite amazed with the reverse auction thingy on zuji.com.sg.
What happens is, they will start the auction at a certain value and every few seconds, the price will drop. So for buyers, when you think the price is low enough, you can bid and buy the offer right away. So the trick is to buy it at a price as low as possible, but before someone snaps it up before you.

Sometimes you can get a rather good deal, like just last week, there was a 7-day car rental (at any destination) snapped up at the price of $260 (roughly, thats like just $40 a day).

Check it out at www.zuiji.com.sg!

Dinner at Wild Rocket

In a belated birthday celebration for Meini, we headed to Wild Rocket for dinner last Saturday.

Located on the ground floor of Hangout Hotel at Mount Emily, Wild Rocket is a casual bistro tucked away in lush greenery just behind Orchard Road. Though 'casual' being mentioned, pleeeaaassse do not appear in shorts and slippers!

The easiest way to get there would be to cab, as you will probably not smell too good after a long walk up and parking space is scarce. To get there, drive along Selegie Road and turn into Sophia Road. Go straight and turn into Upper Wilkie Road. At the end of Upper Wilkie, you will arrive at Hangout Hostel to your right.

Food is a little French, a little Italian, with added Singaporean twist with the use of ingredients/taste such as Laksa, chai poh, giam chye etc etc.

Items we tried:

Starters

Salmon Carpaccio with Wasabi Sauce & Ebiko

Cod Fish Cakes with Thai basil sauce

Mains

Lamb Shank

Chilean seabass on congee (with some garlic topping that tasted like chai poh, quite good leh!)

Duck Leg Confit with yam cake

Seafood spaghetti (no picture taken, we forgot.)

Desserts
Pandan Panna Cotta

Dark lave chocolate gateau with vanilla ice cream.

The above, and a bottle of South African Chenin Blanc, cost us $58 per person.

My verdict
Food is nothing to rave about. Both the duck leg and lamb shank was a bit rough and the spaghetti a tad too dry. Love the Panna Cotta though.
The food was rather a disappointment but the ambience and service made up for it. Place is classy yet casual at the same time, great for girlfriend get togethers (though we also saw two tables of two guys dining together) or a romantic dinner with your other half. Staff was attentive and friendly and helpfully assisted us in the selection of our bottle of wine. $58 is not a very good price to pay for the food, but i guess we are also paying for the ambience and service.

I'm yours

This song is so catchy.. I love it!

Well you done done me and you bet I felt it
I tried to be chill but you're so hot that I melted
I fell right through the cracks, and now I'm trying to get back

Before the cool done run out, I'll be giving it my bestest
And nothing's going to stop me but divine intervention
I reckon it's again my turn to win some or learn some

I won't hesitate no more, no more
It cannot wait, I'm yours

Well open up your mind and see like me
Open up your plans and damn you're free
Look into your heart and you'll find love love love

Listen to the music of the moment people dance and sing
We're just one big family
And it's our God-forsaken right to be loved loved loved loved loved

So I won't hesitate no more, no more
It cannot wait, I'm sure
There's no need to complicate, our time is short
This is our fate, I'm yours

D-d-do do you, but do you, d-d-do
But do you want to come on
Scooch on over closer dear
And I will nibble your ear

I've been spending way too long checking my tongue in the mirror
And bending over backwards just to try to see it clearer
But my breath fogged up the glass
And so I drew a new face and I laughed

I guess what I be saying is there ain't no better reason
To rid yourself of vanities and just go with the seasons
It's what we aim to do, our name is our virtue

But I won't hesitate no more, no more
It cannot wait, I'm sure
Come on and open up your mind and see like me
(I won't hesitate)
Open up your plans and damn you're free
(No more, no more)
Look into your heart and you'll find that the sky is yours
(It cannot wait, I'm sure)

So please don't, there's no need
(There's no need to complicate)
There's no need to complicate
(Our time is short)
'Cause our time is short
(This is our fate)
This is, this is, this is our fate
I'm yours

Oh, I'm yours
Oh, I'm yours
Oh, whoa, baby you believe I'm yours
You best believe, best believe I'm yours

If...

If a picture paints a thousand words,
Then why can't I paint you?
The words will never show the you I've come to know.

If a face could launch a thousand ships,
Then where am I to go?
There's no one home but you,
You're all that's left me too.

And when my love for life is running dry,
You come and pour yourself on me.

If a man could be two places at one time,
I'd be with you.
Tomorrow and today, beside you all the way.

If the world should stop revolving spinning slowly down to die,
I'd spend the end with you.
And when the world was through,
Then one by one the stars would all go out,
Then you and I would simply fly away
