Bayberries

Today my mum bought a fruit which I am seeing and eating for the first time and I would like to introduce it!

The Yangmei, also known as yamamomo in Japanese or bayberry/waxberry in English.

These red berries is a type of fruit native to Asia (mainly China).
They look like they have the outer shell of the rambutans but the skin is actually soft, alike that of raspberries. Each berry has a pit inside the size of a cherry and the flesh, i feel, has the texture of sharks' fins.
In terms of taste, it is a little tart as compared to raspberries and blackberries.
Bayberries are loaded with lots of Vitamin C and antioxidants and makes a wonderful snack during a hot afternoon!
